It’s official: There will no longer be an all Law & Order Thursday night on NBC. For its fifth season, Law & Order: Organized Crime is moving to the streaming service, Peacock. That breaks it up from airing Thursday nights after Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU, which also means that chances are there won’t be many (if any) crossovers. And of course, that leads to the inevitable question of what that means for the will they/won’t they slow burn of Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Svu‘s Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Organized Crime was created by Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, and Ilene Chaiken. It follows the detectives of the Organized Crime Control Bureau as they take on New York City’s most vicious and violent criminal syndicates. It brought Meloni back to the world of Law & Order in 2021, via a two-part crossover with...

Kristen Johnston will star alongside Leanne Morgan in the latter’s upcoming Netflix comedy series, Variety has learned.
The untitled multi-cam comedy was picked up at Netflix in April with a 16-episode order. Morgan co-created the series with Susan McMartin and Chuck Lorre. The role marks a reunion for Lorre and Johnston, as Johnston previously appeared in the CBS multi-cam “Mom,” which Lorre also co-created.
The official description for Morgan’s series states: “Leanne’s life takes an unexpected turn when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. Starting over when you’re a grandmother and in menopause isn’t exactly what she had in mind, but with the help of her family she will navigate this new chapter with grace, dignity and jello salad.”
Johnston will star in the series regular role of Carol, Leanne’s sister. The character is said to be Leanne’s complete opposite.

It's been more than a year since HBO's House of the Dragon concluded its first season, which more or less lived up to the high bar set for it by Game of Thrones. Though not quite as expansive as its predecessor, House of the Dragon still offered plenty of intrigue in setting up what will be known as the Dance of the Dragons: the great civil war between Targaryen heirs Rhaenyra and her half-brother Aegon II.
Now that all the pieces are in place — and indeed the first casualties of the war were felt in the Season 1 finale — all hell is poised to break loose in Season 2. The question is, when will those episodes make it to HBO? Here's what we currently know about the second season, which is poised to begin production soon.
Get ready for a summer of dragons — Season 2 premieres June 16 on HBO.

“There’s one important thing to know about ‘Smiling Friends,’” the show’s co-creator Zach Hadel said during a recent Zoom interview with IndieWire. “It’s not smart.”
It was a reoccurring sentiment. Over the course of our conversation, Hadel and co-creator Michael Cusack repeatedly called their show “dumb,” “stupid,” “not smart,” and, in one colorful tangent, suggested that society would be better off if they were barred from producing television and sent to work in underground mines. After offering her thoughts on what it was like seeing him in person for the first time — “I didn’t realize he was that orange,” she said in all seriousness, adding that it was a “shocking” shade — she went on to critique his behavior. “Let me set the stage because I think people that haven’t been in the courtroom don’t understand the gravity of it… You’ve got this very large courtroom — it’s an older courtroom. You’ve got an ‘In God We Trust’ seal right next to the American flag… the New York State flag, a...

What do they love about being back on Jeopardy? What’s different about this stage from the syndicated show? Host Ken Jennings and the six contestants—Matt Amodio, Victoria Groce, James Holzhauer, Yogesh Raut, Mattea Roach, and Amy Schneider—address just that and more in TV Insider’s exclusive video ahead of the new episode airing on May 10. As Jennings points out, there’s quite the prize at stake. “I feel very confident in myself, but at the same time, I recognize this is probably as tough a field as has ever brought me here, so I’m not taking anything for granted,” Holzhauer admits. And as Schneider points out, “I know that anything less than my very best effort and my total focus,...

Netflix will be the “likely winner” of media rights to the pair of NFL games scheduled for Dec. 25 for the upcoming football season, Puck’s John Ourand reported, citing anonymous sources. The report added the caveat that no deal has been signed yet and Netflix and the NFL “still have to clear some hurdles before any deal is announced.”
The NFL declined to comment. Reps for Netflix didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan premiered 20 years ago on National Geographic, and pet ownership has never been the same. Setting an example for your dog with “calm, assertive energy” is paramount in Millan’s philosophy, and, as he detailed in his 2007 book Be the Pack Leader: Use Cesar's Way to Transform Your Dog… and Your Life, “Discipline isn't about showing a dog who's boss; it's about taking responsibility for a living creature you have brought into your world.”
Millan has long preached the belief that a dog’s behavior is the result of its human’s behavior, which, sure, can sound daunting, but it also means that, with some research and training of their own, humans can instill good behaviors and curtail bad ones in their pets. That’s the thinking behind Millan’s Dog Whisperer follow-up, Better Human, Better Dog, now in its fourth season on Nat Geo.

Thankfully, we have a safe room in our garage, but it’s on the other side of our home, and Cole decided in a split second that he didn’t have time to make it there.” Missy explained how Cole was knocked down by the intense winds but managed to make it inside the house and “into the bathtub where he covered his head and listened to glass...

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman don’t need to live together to make their marriage work. In fact, even though they have lived separately for years they are seemingly closer than ever. Somehow it’s gone unreported until now, but for several days in 2001, then-SNL writer Paula Pell was believed to be a victim of anthrax poisoning after a letter containing the lethal substance was sent to 30 Rock.
In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, letters containing anthrax were sent to a number of politicians and journalists, including NBC’s Tom Brokaw. As was publicly reported at the time, Brokaw’s assistant was exposed to the substance and hospitalized after she tested positive for anthrax poisoning. A second NBC employee, a desk assistant for NBC News who opened the letter, also fell ill.
What we didn’t know until now is that several weeks later, Paula Pell was also sent to the hospital with suspected anthrax poisoning. It’s a pretty remarkable footnote to a story that was front-page news at the time, but for Pell it’s most notable for the...

It all started when Rob Reiner tried to convince Albert Brooks to let him film his own version of “My Dinner with Andre” titled “My Lunch with Albert Brooks.” His high school chum refused. After someone else came to Brooks wanting to make a documentary about him, the financing fell through. Then the men decided to combine the two things.
“There’s about 4000 documentaries now,” said Brooks at an FYC event with Reiner and moderator Judd Apatow this week at the Academy of Motion Pictures. “It’s the way they’re willing to spend money without spending real money. Everyone has a story and 99 out of 100 are done pretty much the same way. Either the person’s no longer living, or they’re being talked about from an off-stage voice. So to be able to do that this way…that’s what makes it special. Because it’s Rob and...

The Sherri host appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Thursday, May 9, and opened up about her flirting techniques and how Hudson should up her flirt game when it comes to her own guests. When Hudson asked Shepherd if she would ever date any of the guests who had been on her show, she immediately responded, “Girl, would I? Uh, yes!” “First of all, that’s my opening line. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Sugar Season 1 Episode 7 “The Friends You Keep.”] Now that the big secret about Colin Farrell‘s private investigator is out—he’s an alien!—the show can lean into that. And that includes a change to Sugar‘s opening credits, which now end with his eyes glowing. It was always the plan to do that following the reveal in Episode 6, says executive producer Audrey Chon. “We were hiding a lot of things and we thought it’s just kind of a wink and a nod to revealing that he’s an alien at that point,” she tells TV Insider. In a landscape where art mirrors reality, certain television shows and Black creators have steadfastly used their platforms to confront societal truths. While drama and documentary series have long served this purpose, there's a notable shift as Black creators employ the genre of horror to address the myriad challenges faced by Black individuals, offering not just visual entertainment but a profound sense of validation for Black viewers.
With series like Little Marvin’s Them entering its second season, delving into the complexities of Black relationships with law enforcement, questions arise about why horror serves as a vehicle for these narratives. For many creators, it's about intertwining a dark racial history with the very real fears experienced by Black audiences while shedding light on the existential dread of simply existing as a Black American.

Joy Behar doesn’t usually get flustered easily, but she was left hot under the collar on Wednesday’s (May 8) episode of The View when her co-hosts told her to read some sexy excerpts from Sunny Hostin‘s new novel. Promoting her new book Summer on Highland Beach, Hostin asked Behar to read some of the more steamier passages from the novel. Taking the book from Hostin, Behar did her best Dr. Ruth impression and read the first excerpt. “Desire hit her hard and fast. She was burning up, sparked by fire, lit by joy — really? — he’d forgotten how delicious spearmint tasted on her lips,” she read. The long-time comedian and TV personality managed to get through the first passage relatively unscathed. But the heat turned up a notch when Alyssa Farah Griffin urged her to “read the naughtier one.” “Oh, it’s so bad. You really want me to read that?...
