10/10
One of the better and engaging rock and roll films ever made.
15 October 2000
A powerful performance by Tim McIntyre highlights this thoroughly enjoyable movie about 1950's Rock & Roll deejay Alan Freed. The storyline revolves around the daily events leading up to Alan Freed's First Anniversary of Rock & Roll Show at the Paramount. An exuberant soundtrack helps this movie along at a fast pace, and plays off nicely against Alan Freed's steady-as-she goes character.

Tonight Show fans will get a kick out of Jay Leno's colorful performance as Freed's driver and a very young Fran Drescher is both charming and funny. Those who are feeling nostalgic for a more innocent time will enjoy this movie
