The English Patient is an overly indulgent, depressing and sappy movie that drags audiences through scene after scene of plotless drivel. I'm with Elaine on this one--it hurts! The only redeeming quality of this movie is its excellent cinematography. It provides sweeping views of the African desert. For this reason, I gave it a 4 instead of a 1.
