All in all, this is Czech director/artist/madman Jan Svankmajer's most "typical" film to date, employing more actors and less artistic meddling than past projects such as Alice and Faust. Still, no-one else could have made this movie. How to explain...this is an account of several individuals, men and women, who derive, or at least strive for sexual fulfillment through strange, fantastic, ritualistic, and often mechanical means... bread, fish, thumbtacks, paper mache, robotic mannekin arms... It's all very sensual without becoming gross or explicit. Hilarious sometimes- love that porno chicken. Definitely worth catching- a good date movie for the long attention span set.
