Zebra Lounge (2001 TV Movie)
8/10
Better than what I thought...
29 September 2001
I caught this movie on HBO one night, and was really surprised at how much I liked it. Movies that deal with sex are hit or miss. Some can handle it without going over the top and there are some that just flat-out awful. Zebra Lounge is of the former.

The film starts with Alan and Wendy, the all-American couple. The problem: their sex life is boring. To rejuvenate it, they take out an ad in a swinger's magazine. In walks Buffy the First, Kristy Swanson, and one of the Baldwin Brothers (Stephen)--playing Louise and Jack, respectively.

After their first time swinging, Jack and Louise get creepy and almost become obsessed with Alan and Wendy. I won't spoil anymore of it, but suffice it to say, things get out of control.

Performances are all solid, with Stephen Baldwin's performance of Jack being especially creepy; it's almost enough to forgive him for Bio Dome. The ending is a little hard to swallow, but I can't come up with anything better. So, it works.

The sex scenes are well done -- you may not look at an elevator in the same way again -- and the direction is good. Overall, it's a cut above most of the sex thrillers that come out.
