Great dancing, great music!
28 February 2004
"Dirty Dancing, Havana Nights" has a great soundtrack and fabulous dancing. Just as in the original, there is a romance between star-crossed lovers who find each other as they sweep across the dance floor. "Havana Nights," perhaps, has an even sounder plot than "Dirty Dancing," but lacks that awkward humor that captured people's hearts with such lines as, "I carried a Watermelon." The film is good, especially for the diehard fans out there, but it is a shame that the social and political issues of the film overwhelmed any opportunity for a bit of light humor about young love. Despite this lack of humor, the scenery, costuming, and choreography were all beautiful and exciting. Fans will love the music and dancing.
