Okay...as a prospective filmmaker, I look for things like 1) a plot, 2) characters i connect to, 3) cinematography, 4) an overall ambiance of an entire film, what I go away feeling when I finish the film.
I can say I never wanted to walk out of a movie before, but not even half way through i was itchin to get out of my seat, had I not gone with my friends I wouldn't have been put through hell, which is what I felt I was in having to sit through such crap.
I never once understood what was going on. Did anyone else pick up on the prophecy of what was suppose to be happening? I felt like the director was the only person who followed the story, while making people pay 9 bucks to see something they would never understand.
Why did the camera shake? Did it have any significance, I mean the actors never responded to the earthquake effect, and it wasn't like we were experiencing it from the "evil" that was chasing them. Why did the dad go crazy. Why was the acting so weak? what the hell was that thing Anna Paquin uncovered under the floor boards? Why, when the family was in Spain, did everyone speak English and have English accents, even all the newspaper headings were in English? What the hell did the dad do that made him move everywhere? I got the mother was a nurse, like at the end of the movie, but there was nothing else to suggest that was her job. And last..but certainly not least, what the f*** was the ending? All I can figure was the director said "oops we are out of money, lets end it here." worst ending for a movie. ARRRRRR!!!! Anyway, I never really give perspectives of movies on here because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but from the looks of it, everyone else hated this flick as well. I have never felt disappointed this much after seeing a film so I had to warn all others who are thinking of seeing this movie to GO SEE SOMETHING...ANYTHING else. This film makes Phantom top notch. I give this movie an F-.
