A Touch of Hope (1999 TV Movie)
7/10
Reasonably interesting movie

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie, and as is my habit, I missed the very beginning of it. As such, I had no idea it was a work of somewhat sensationalized truth based on an actual person until the notes came up at the end before the credits. I thought I was watching some offshoot of "The Dead Zone", since at least 2 of the actors are from that series on the SciFi channel. My wife and I both watched and enjoyed this movie, and I think it is worth a watch. I will have to check which came first, however. I enjoy watching "The Dead Zone", so this wasn't too far from that. In this movie, I felt that the part played by the doctor/father of the young girl in a coma was somewhat overdone. His comments to the effect that 'if you succeed, it will put in doubt all of modern medicine' (paraphrased) was an unreasonable attitude, considering the situation. There are too many phenomena in this existence which are unexplained by conventional thinking and mores.
