Review of Camp

Camp (2003)
6/10
Fun Camp

The plot is tragic, the acting is even worse, and the script is...well it is just there. But there is just something about this movie that I love. Us theatre kids just sit around and watch it and laugh at the all the memories it invokes in us. A definite must for anyone who has ever experienced the joys of theatre. (That is said sarcastically, sorry all nuance is lost on a computer screen). The opening scene is actually very powerful in a made-for-TV movie sort of way. Don't go into this expecting it to blow you away. Just enjoy it for what it is. Full of laughs and teen angst. There is a stereo-typical character that represents everyone you know. They had them down-pat. Something us theatre geeks can be proud of.
