Warning: Spoilers
I saw this film when I was maybe 15. I'm 50 now, and of the thousands of films I've seen since, this is one that really stuck in my memory. Must be due to the psychological resonance of being as completely lost as it's possible to get.

Or perhaps it became lodged in my subconscious by it's singular strangeness. A man and a monkey, stranded on a barren world, not unlike the vast desert that is the real Mars. The man runs out of air, but somehow at the last moment discovers oxygen in the rocks.

Stylistically spare, predating the original Star Trek, definitely worth a look.
