One to Watch over and over!
17 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
After seeing the advertisement for this film, I couldn't wait to see it! I really like both actors who play the main characters (Harvey Keitel as Weldon Parish and Joshua Jackson as Jeremy Taylor). The movie has a great story. A young editor/writer named Jeremy Taylor from a London publishing company is sent to Italy to find writer Weldon Parish who for some reason unknown to others has stopped writing. Watching the emotion between the two as they become friends and overcome their obstacles is a life learning experience. The comedy is lighthearted and makes your laugh. It's also great to see the relationship between Jeremy and one of Weldon's 3 daughters (Isabella) blossom. The dance scene between Jeremy and Isabella is great! I would have liked to have seen Weldon's reaction to this considering earlier in the film Jeremy told Weldon he didn't dance. After an evening of drinking I especially like how Weldon and his friends convince Jeremy he is going to drown. The roles played by Weldon's friends are great!! I love how the Priest has his way of getting things done and the Hotel owner is a true friend to Weldon and keeps him safe from outsiders. The scenery is beautiful!! Overall a great movie and one I will watch everyone time it is aired and will purchase the DVD if ever released!
