The comparison with Dexter is inevitable but they are really different. The facts is Dexter is more related to a genius (nerd) with a hidden laboratory, with a all-trouble sister, a family that unknown the laboratory and some enemies. Dexter like a child is not credible at all, Dexter think more in the science rather to have joy with their toys.
In opposite Johnny Test is about a more normal kid that have two twin sisters (genius), both try to create some experiment for the own convenience and what's a 8-10 year old child will ask in this situation?.. superpowers, superweapons, supervehicles and such, not science stuff. Also the sisters want only one thing :the heart of the neighbor, in other word the roles are a lot more credible rather Dexter's laboratory.
Also Duke is a good partner.
