Man of the House (I) (2005)

Only for guys...

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie, and let me tell you, it's not all that great. It's okay, but it's just not that great.

While everyone claims this is such a chick flick, this "chick flick" seems to only be steered toward amusing guys.

Plot: Tommy Lee Jones plays a cop whose job is to protect 5 cheerleaders who witness a murder. Seems okay, doesn't it? Well, here's where I must point out the poor aspects of the film.

The cheerleaders are all skanky and only the smart, shy one and the tough one have any redeeming qualities. The Latino was just annoying. The black one was forgettable. And the bubbly blonde was disgusting, and made me uneasy when she kept flirting with Tommy Lee Jones. EWW!! (The guy isn't all that handsome anyway.) Cedric the Entertainer gave me many good reasons to be thankful that I'm a Catholic. (I don't even want to go into them.) Tommy Lee Jones's attitude towards the girls' gross behavior was great. (Glad to see a man with morals in a film like this.) Too bad his random romance didn't fit with the story. Seriously, the woman he loved was kinda boring, and pointless. And the chemistry was bad.

And the plot hole with his partner was just stupid. I'm guessing she lived, but there was no sequence to make it clear. Also, he seemed to like his partner more than he liked the other woman.

The cheer-leading dance moves looked just as retarded as the ones in 'Hollaback Girl'.

The only cute scenes were when Tommy Lee Jones was with his daughter, and when the two redeeming cheerleaders gave him pointers on life. Other than that, it's just a typical guy flick. 2/10.
