The Wild One (1953)

My aunt loved to watch this

Warning: Spoilers
I think my Aunt Yvonne Doughty (Britches) would get a kick out of the comments about this movie. I don't think at the time they were filming this that people would get so much meaning out of a motorcycle gang movie. It was filmed mostly in the Ventura county area of CA alone Hwy 101 from the San Fernando Valley up to Oxnard/Ventura. There was a real bike race going on that day too. I never got to see this during the 60's because it was always shown on late night TV and I was only born in 1956. I purchase it on video in the late 1980's and now also have the DVD. If you look at scene 13 you'll see my lovely Aunt Bonne! The Lee Marvin character is the funniest, I think. He really seems to be enjoying tormenting Brando's Johnny. But do you really think that Johnny would have gone for the Mary Murphy girl. She wouldn't have lasted a day with the gangs. I don't think Johnny could live with such a straight lace type of female at all. That's the part of the film most people I have talked to and emailed about this movie just don't get? I do understand that he is trying to look for something, Johnny send roses!
