When I saw that somebody made a film about the story of Hesther I was excited. Great some filmmaker has the nerve to make a Biblical story. The Bible is a book I love. Gods word or not Gods word it contains the History of the Jewish People and the Fantastic story of Jesus and his followers. The Bible is a book of deep spiritual conviction. That spiritual conviction comes about because of disaster, horror, lust, Betrayal and of course redemption and victory. It is about Sex and death and Love and Life. When they made One night with the King the film makers Lost something in the epic tale of this powerful woman. Part of the problem is that I felt I was in an Indian Palace and Not a Persian one. Secondly the Diolouge was bad and sanitized and preachy. I know how to think and feel and I don't want to be preached at by a character in a movie. A modern American woman who does not look at all Jewish or Persian speaking with a modern accent using King James English. Too Bad the film makers could have reached a a huge audience if they had realized it cost just as much to make a great film as it does to make a bad one.
