I've been very impressed with some Sci Fi Channel productions, most notably the recent miniseries "The Lost Room." This movie effort was not one of them. I enjoy zombie flicks as much as the next person, and cheesy special effects are always good for a laugh, but this vehicle did not use those elements to good effect. Obviously a parody of other zombie films (with dialog comparing the original "Night of the Living Dead" with the remake), it brings nothing new or funny to the genre. It can be done, as "Shaun of the Dead" showed so well. Overall, the production values were too low, the plot too thin, too many goofs to note, and poor dialog much of the time. A throwaway evil villain added very little other than another tired one-liner. I will agree with other comments that the performance by Guy Torry was the one bright spot in the film. He will be one to watch in future projects.
