Review of The Young and the Restless

I am no fan of this series but would like to point out that it must be the most addictive USA TV series on the French Television. Watched by millions of people every day ( mainly old ladies, and the unemployed - as its air time is 1.50 pm Monday to Friday ), the addicts of this series are glued to their TV sets at this hour every day of the working week ! I have had the occasion to watch it at times but unless you are following it on a daily basis, it's not worth it as you quickly lose touch with events. Compare it to something in the UK like East Enders or Coronation Street. Known as "Les Feux de l'Amour" for some strange reason, most of the population here has heard of this even if they don't all watch it as to be sure there'll be at least one family member who's a fan. I find the persistance of close up shots and the lack of exteriors rather stifling after a few episodes, indeed it can become dull and tedious hence my play on words in the summary !
