Okay, now that you know the plot, let me write my review. This is my second Asylum film that I've seen (Asylum is a company that rips off recent movies, if you didn't know). I did not remember anything about War of the Worlds nor do I remember as much from this film.
All I know is that this film wasn't as bad as people have been calling it. It wasn't really good either. It was just another lazy production in Asylum. Can they take their time? They like shoot their films for like a week (or it seems so) and the movie ends up looking terrible and sometimes decent!
There's nothing bad about the film. Well, there were some atrocious performances (even a beautiful looking girl who always talk in an annoying "cool" tone). The action took a bit long to get to. That shows that this film takes its time to build a plot.
And I'll tell you right now, there are at least TWO (2) things in here that surprised me in a good way! It may seem impossible but they pulled it off! One of them is truly original (well, I haven't seen every sci-fi film out there!) and another was taken from another movie but I was still surprised!
Other than that, everything else was average to bad. The CGI was...okay, it was really bad. The sound effects were out of sinc and were unoriginal so that was bad as well. The robots do die very easily here, like any other human. The action was decent. Other than that, if you really want to see this film, go ahead. It's completely pointless but harmless at the same time.
