"The Prophecy III: The Ascent" is more of a conclusion than anything else.

**SPOILERS**

After an assassination attempt, religious activist Danyael Rosales, (Dave Buzzotta) is taken to the county morgue, where his girlfriend Maggie, (Kayren Butler) is unable to come up with the answer given when he disappears after a few hours. Uncovering the truth, that he plays an important part of a religious battle for control of the Earth through the Angel Zophael, (Vincent Spano) with his own half-angel, half-man status. With help from Gabriel, (Christopher Walken) a fallen angel stuck on Earth, he is soon informed of his status despite not knowing how it all happened, and is told of his significance in the War for control. Knowing that all the forces are now are after him, he is forced to go on the run to escape and battle for the future of mankind on the planet.

The Good News: When this one has it coming, there's some really good stuff in it. The fact that there's finally answers to the storyline are a major one, even though there's nothing about it in the beginning and there's only a few at the ending, but these are enough to make it feel really conclusive to the story. The story lines are done and settled, with no loose ends left with the several stories here still leave the film with no questions about what's going on in the series. All of them are tied up and given explanations, making this one really feel nice in it's conclusion to the series. There's even a few really good action scenes in here to make it even more interesting. There's a spectacular foot-chase through a series of buildings and streets that really gets the excitement into the film. It has a fun conclusion that is pretty otherworldly and combines a lot of action into it. There's also a few fist-fights that incorporate some high-flying martial arts into the proceedings, and a rather blood-soaked finale that has enough body-piercing and heart-removing to leave the gore-hounds satisfied. The device is pretty nice and actually has a painful-looking purpose for it. That's what it should be, and manages to do it successfully. These here are what really help the movie.

The Bad News: This one here doesn't have that many flaws to hold it down. One of the main ones is that there's a whole lot of scenes in the beginning which are just dull. The film is beginning to get it's mystery started and there's nothing in the film that really matters all that much. It takes a long time to set up the mystery, and from there it isn't too long to really get the film going, but with the points it has to deal with until then are just too dull to matter. When that ends, there's also the film's embarrassingly brief running time. This one really should've been stretchered out to a much longer time, as this makes the final epic battle seem relatively weak. It's all dealt with too quickly, and there's nothing in here that really makes that feel any different. The final confrontation is distressingly weak, and with a little more time, it could've been something. It has a little bit of something there but it's handled way too differently to really have the grandiose feeling that it really should've had, from where the story was going. Even worse, with the film feeling too short, it's over before it feels like it, and the with the grandiose feeling that it was going for, the quickness really detriments it from feeling that way. Otherwise, these here the film's really bad points.

The Final Verdict: More of a conclusion to the series than anything else, this one here accomplishes the task rather well. This one is really only for the fans of the series or the incredibly interested, otherwise this one should be used with extreme caution.
