Brisk, entertaining and well written episode of CASTLE has NATHAN FILLION as the mystery writer working side by side with a woman detective, STANA KATIC, to solve the mysterious death of an actor supposedly telecasting from the Arctic in a video presentation for school kids.
I've only seen a couple of these CASTLE episodes, but this one is especially well done. Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic have good chemistry together. He's a cocky author strutting his stuff with humor and charm and she's always confronting him as a sort of nemesis. He suspects that she's really fond of him and catches her on the sly reading his latest book.
The humor is applied with a light touch that makes all of the characters seem believable. MOLLY QUINN is especially good as his smart, stubborn daughter who sometimes has a more adult viewpoint than he does. TYLER HOECHLIN, as her music teacher, was the boy from ROAD TO PERDITION who gave such a good performance in that film as Tom Hanks' young son.
Intelligent scripts with lots of sly humor make it an appealing show to watch.
