Review of Lisa

Lisa (I) (2001)
10/10
Excellent film... very moving.
13 November 2009
I saw this film on a trans Atlantic flight from Paris to the USA in January of 2002. For me it is one of the most memorable films I've ever seen. I find myself thinking about it many times over the years since then.

Jeanne Moreau was excellent in her role, as usual. I have to admit to not being familiar with most of the rest of the cast and it was my first exposure to Marion Cotillard, who I became an instant fan of. I think the story was superbly filmed and to me was very moving and heart wrenching. I think the characters were very believable and I found myself swept away by the film. I also think it was very unique to have the main part of the story line take place during World War 2, but there was little focus on battle or the war overall.

I Would love to see it again and to find it and buy it on DVD - except it appears to not have been released on DVD. Too bad. A really Great film!
