This is the Monty Python film which everyone forgets. And that's a shame, because this is superb. It gives us the only visual record of the full team delivering a full live performance of their classic material.

And by gum they are good. Perhaps one has to single out Eric Idle as delivering the single most impressive piece of live stage-work in the seemingly never-ending monologue complaining about Brits holidaying in Spain, but all the members - including honorary Pythons Carol Cleveland and Neil Innes- are splendid.

The choice of material is clearly carefully arrived at, as are the links and live staging generally. The audience is responsive (if a little over-American - not surprising, really, the clue is in the title) and the ad-libs are good.

This film is invaluable, but also very very entertaining.
