4/10
Overlong Western spoof has its moments
31 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Only very few of Franco and Ciccio's comedy routines in "Two Sons Of Ringo" hit their target; most of them are tiresome and chuckle-free. There are times when you wish the supporting players, particularly George Hilton and Gloria Paul, were the leads instead, with F + C relegated to comic sidekicks. It's no coincidence that the brightest spots of this comedy are actually two decent gunfight sequences, one in the middle and one at the end, where the unbelievably gorgeous Gloria Paul (an even more beautiful version of Sophia Loren) and the wonderfully named Orchidea De Santis turn out to be expert sharpshooters! (Is there anything sexier than a woman with a gun?). At 100 minutes, "Two Sons Of Ringo" is simply too long, however the final revelation about the true nature of the title is possibly worth the wait. *1/2 out of 4.
