Dark Angel (1990)
4/10
The only things I liked were the guns with explosive ammo.

Warning: Spoilers
Dark Angel is a film about a alien drug dealer who comes to earth to harvest humans for their endorphins and then sell them on a black market. The endorphins are supposed to be the ultimate drug and people will pay a lot of money for it. An alien cop comes to earth as well to attempt to stop this guy, but ends up having to rely on the hero as he is killed in a particularly brutal attack.

The only good thing about this movie is the action. Dolph Lungrun's acting is really bad and the characters are mostly stereotypical. Caine is a loner cop who loses his partner in a failed drug bust, and Smith is the by the book FBI agent. The aliens are humanoid but look very intimidating, and as such I like them. Their weapons are also heaps good and as such I like the movie.

The main comment here is about drugs. Drugs are deadly to those who use them and I guess it portrays that by the fact that the alien harvests drugs from humans. It is basically a theme that runs constantly through a lot of movies, attempting to address an escalating drug problem. It is also something that people can relate to.

The plot is basic and so are the characters. There is no conflict of interests and is simply good guy against bad guy and the good guy wins in the end. This movie is good for its action and its aliens but little else
