I saw Streetdance 3D (i.e. the one before this one) and, to my surprise, quite enjoyed it. This film appears to have no connection with its predecessor whatsoever apart from telling pretty much exactly the same story - a streetdance crew fuses streetdance with Latin dance (it was ballet in the previous film) with a view to winning a dance competition as underdogs. There is a romance, too.
I continue to be very impressed by the athleticism of the performers, but I continue to regard it as gymnastics to music rather than dancing. Also I don't care for a lot of the music (bring back Victor Sylvester, that's what I say!).
It was OK, but the first one was better.
