So This Titanic Wasn't About Jack, Rose and Celine?
15 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I was presented a thread about a week ago on Facebook in which endless posters didn't realize there really was a Titanic.

Complaints about this miniseries, which is fine to me, I've spent the day watching recreations on the Discovery channel, looks about like them, give me the impression people wanted My Heart Will Go On And On to start playing at the beginning and it didn't! So this is a bogus Titanic? Cameron's Titanic, as someone else said, may as well have been played out in a park, or with Americans Jack, Rose and Cal, portrayed in the wild west.

Those characters belonged on the Hindenberg as much as they belonged on the Titanic, Cal shooting with his gun.

Three parts have aired in the states, and the biggest complaint seems to be the 'rewinding' with each episode. No idea how it felt in Canada and the UK, but it was truly an odd watch one right after the other for us yanks.

The focus on Titanic has clearly shifted to what become of those we know nothing about, such as the engineers and the A La Carte waiters, among others.

This program is even showing the dogs. Or mentioning them.

Tonight will be the conclusion, on the 100th anniversary. And I intend to go see the '97 film in 3D as well.

There is no this Titanic is better than that Titanic. Not now.
