Scorned and Swindled (1984 TV Movie)
9/10
The World of Antiques, Flea Markets, Crooks
22 April 2012
I've seen this twice and would love to see it five more times. It is based on a true story about a man who wooed and married over FIFTY women to rob them and split. His favorite victims were women who owned antique shops and he would clean them out. The older Tuesday Weld is a superb actress here and Sheree North is a heartbreaking and wonderful. The Wendkos direction is superior throughout.

As someone who used to do the flea markets, cherry-pick the stock and wheel and deal... the portrayal of that world was sheer heaven for me and wonderfully realistic. There is a great scene at a flea mart where Weld as the swindled and almost broke antique dealer, spends her last few bucks buying and selling carnival glass, dishes and anything under-priced she can spot.

For those who are fans of the 'antique reality shows' it is a classic scene!

I'd LOVE to own the DVD of this.
