Now, there were a lot of sequels to the The Howling after it came out back in the 1980's, most of which were forgettable.
This one is actually made with a lot of solid special effects, and some okay writing. It's really kind of slow in the first half hour with some tiresome teenage angst. the movie kind of gets going later, but not really that much.
They use the same kinds of special effects they used in the 1981 film, but they look tired and dated here. There are a few clever lines such as "The Evolution will not be Televised", and when a silver trophy is used to kill a werewolf "Aren't you glad you didn't win the gold.
Not a bad film, but not great. Worth a Weekend rental.
