Not for Everyone but still funny

Warning: Spoilers
To give y'all some background I am more of a movie than TV buff although I watch both purely for personal enjoyment and not for the purpose of critique or review. Simply put, I'm a consumer. Past favorite shows of mine are Scrubs,Reaper, Archer, and HIMYM.

I'll admit I was skeptical when first seeing the ads for this show thinking it was another dumb sitcom. Then one night the first episode was on TV when nothing else was on so I watched it and was decently entertained. Is it an original idea? Yes/No, a big-eyed hopeful girl named June coming from a small town atmosphere trying to make it big in NYC and things not going as planned. The originality stems more from just the randomness and chaos created by June's eventual roommate Chloe.

Chloe is a party girl with no inhibitions or boundaries in anything. She is a NYC socialite who appears to have no permanent job but never needs cash for anything except occasionally to pay rent. She is a habitual liar and con-artist but there's more than meets the eye with this character as witnessed throughout the first season.

Again not very original but it is interesting and funny watching both characters from two extremes bring each other toward a middle ground. More over the show embraces the ideal that you can't plan every second of life but at the same time you can't have no plans or goals.

Side Note - Chloe's best friend is James Van Der Beek playing himself which lends itself to the idea that Chloe lives a more star-studded above-average lifestyle and his character is funny to watch.

Is this show a sad commentary on this generation's taste? Possibly but I'm evaluating this show purely from a standpoint of would I watch it again or like to see a season 2 and I can say yes to both. Also as history has shown every generation tend to shatter's the previous one's boundaries and not necessarily for the worst.

If you like randomness, chaos, and are okay with blatant references of or scenes showing alcohol, sex, drugs, and law-breaking. Then you should give this show a chance and watch 2 or 3 episodes.
