If you like action flicks that barely have a plot, then this a movie for you. Not that the first movie was any better. But, I was really hoping this movie would take off, and make it so that we could see another movie to fallow.
Nothing in this film relates to the first movie. At the end of "Ghost Rider" Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) states that he "is going to own this curse." In this movie, he doesn't seem to wanna do that. He wanted to get rid of his curse. What happen to I wanna own it? Did the director not even see the last movie?
I did manage to give this movie a 5 out 10. Mainly for the action. Despite the fact that his movie is poorly written, it does have some great action. And of course, visual effects. One thing that I did like about this movie, is that we got to see an action scene take place during the day. I did not read the comic books but, after seeing the first movie, I always had a feeling that Ghost Rider, or The Rider could do more then just fight during the night. So, it was nice to see a day action scene.
Another thing that I did like is that instead of trying to throw in all different types of Characters, they tried to focus in on The Devil and his I guess you could call him, his puppet. His slave, if you will. In the first movie, all the Characters basically die off before you even get to know them.
The main issues with this movie is that, they lacked in Character development. And, of course, telling a good story. Take The Devil for example. We know very little of his plan, and the little bit that we are told, does not make for much of a plot.
Another issue with this movie is what takes place between action scenes. The scripted seems rushed. I have no clue as to what is going on, and why it is happening. Basically, everything other then the action that takes place, is boring.
To sum everything up, I did not hate the movie, I just disliked it. So, just watch it for the action.
