Paranormal Entity (2009 Video)
2/10
Not among The Asylum's worst but that is saying very little
5 September 2012
As far as Asylum movies go, Paranormal Entity is not as bad as Titanic II, Alien Origin or AVH: Alien vs Hunter. It did have a decent concept and started off decently. Sadly it very quickly goes downhill. The effects and editing are haphazard to look at so you can't really enjoy anything visually. The writing is awful also, it reeks of cheese and never feels as though it is natural in its flow. The characters are not identifiable at all, you know little about the family and the chemistry isn't there between them. Plus everything feels so clichéd. The acting is very poor as well, Shane Van Dyke overacts embarrassingly while the rest of the cast are insufferably bland(especially in comparison). But the worst asset about Paranormal Entity was the story, once it falls downhill from its somewhat promising start it is all very predictable and the scares and such have the feeling of being improvised and badly. All in all, not their worst, but a very bad movie still. 2/10 Bethany Cox
