2/10
Apartment 23: Derelict
7 April 2013
This came on last week and with nothing else on and it being a lazy Sunday afternoon, I thought I'd check it out.

The episode in question being the PILOT, I viewed it with an open mind, however, quickly wondered how the hell more than the one episode got made.

I'm by no means a Bible-basher, but when humour hinges on the topic of date-rape, I wasn't entirely comfortable... But what's it all about?

Well, there was this dumb-blonde-looking girl who lounges around eating all day, yet still has a figure to die for, and some chick who thinks that being an alcoholic is cool (who, strangely enough, also shows no physical signs of alcohol abuse/lack of sleep). There's also that bloke from Dawson's Creek (remember that trash?), who's apparently only it because he's not found anything else to work on, because oddly enough, he plays himself (type-cast!), which doesn't fit into the format the two girls have going on.

To coin an internet phrase - as well as to be more accurate - he's there "for great justice" (i.e. no real reason whatsoever).

So, forgetting about him (since he's basically all the filler scenes... which lack all trace of humour... in an already NOT FUNNY show), we're left with two girls you'll likely be in no hurry to see perform again any time soon, in a canned-laughter snooze of 25 minutes.

To be honest, had this programme lasted any longer, I'd have turned over, earning it a 1/10, but since it didn't, I was left irritated by the writers' attempts to reprieve some morality, by telling kids: it's okay to use your friends to the point of essentially getting them date-raped, but men are not allowed to cheat on their wives!

Seriously, if this is the pilot - the taster of the wit to come - I can only recommend one course of action: AVOID IT.
