Laughing at heavy issues
9 October 2013
This is a surprisingly good comedy/satire about some sad realities from post-Communist Romania: the old economic facilities gently sabotaged, the neglected families, the lack of respect for people, the illusions of quick enrichment, of benevolent investors, and of leaving the country through marriage for a Western Eldorado. All this is very well built up, the actors are natural, the plot and situations are at the brink of absurd ridicule and implying that feeling of impending doom which is so familiar in this age of crooks. A special mention for Andi Vasluianu, a very good actor, and of course for Dorel Visan, a specialist of that typology. Everything in this movie has that feel of reality which makes it funny and sad in the same time.
