Go wild in the country

Warning: Spoilers
I have to admit I was initially wrong stepped by the premise of this film.

When Chris (Steve Oram) told the large man off for dropping litter in the tram, I thought this would be a couple hounded by the locals as they tour Yorkshire and the Lake District. It turned out to be different.

Alice Lowe and Steve Oram play Tina and Chris, a socially awkward and introverted duo.

Tina lives with her domineering and manipulative mother who lost her dog companion a year earlier. She only met Steve recently and they go off on a caravan road trip sightseeing.

The caravan gives them plenty of time to have sex, see the local sights and they encounter various people on the camping sites.

So far it is a little bit like Mike Leigh's Nuts in May but we soon find ourselves entering Badlands territory when things go a bit macabre.

It starts innocently enough when Chris backs up into someone and kills him but he soon dispatches people who annoy him. Pretty soon Tina joins in getting rid of people that upset her, which in turn causes a rift in their relationship.

The violence is pretty gruesome, some of it is a pastiche on 2001: A Space Odyssey. The ending will remind you of Thelma & Louise.

As a low budget film its better and more entertaining than expected but the leads are not likable people, in fact we see very few likable people in this film.

Very much an anti-caravanning film if you ask me!
