Review of Seed

The Walking Dead: Seed (2012)
Season 3, Episode 1

A Fantastic Return!
15 September 2014
This is the first episode of the third season of AMC's brilliant, critically-favored horror drama, The Walking Dead. This is a fantastic first episode as we see the plight out characters are in, especially after leaving the farm. Though last season was mostly a slow-burner, we might be in for a change this season. This is action-packed, full of walker violence, lots of gore, and some intense character drama.

In this episode, "Seed," the gang has survived a long winter as they have been going house to house. Lori is now in her final stages of pregnancy, but it's clear Rick has been cold towards her. Rick sees a prison where he believes they will be able to seek shelter and find supplies, but they must fight through a horde of walkers on the prison property. But once inside, they realize they may not be alone.....

Overall, this is a fantastic beginning to what seems to be an excellent season. There is no shortage of action, but there is some moving character drama. I got emotional when Herschel's daughters sang a song their mother used to sing to them around the campfire. But as started from the previous season and heading into this season, Rick is becoming a cold-hearted person and we shall see how that plays out. I rate this episode 10/10.
