This is the first episode of the fifth season of the Walking Dead. Before I begin, I want to warn viewers that is is the most violent and gory episode of the series so far, so that is saying something. But this episode marks a thrilling start to the season, thanks in part to an excellent screenplay and fantastic acting. This episode has two character standouts: Rick and Carol.
In this episode, "No Sanctuary," the reunited gang is still trapped in truck crate, but they plan to overpower their captors. However, they are one step ahead of them. Rick realizes their end may be imminent. Carol and Tyreese capture an inhabitant of Terminus after overhearing about Michonne being captured. They capture this man and Carol goes to Terminus to try to save the day.
Overall, this season is off to a fantastic start. This episode is a great combination of action and emotional characterization. That ending nearly left me in tears. But the action is intense as we have Rick facing off against two enemies: Terminus and walkers. Cannot wait to see what happens next.
