What's the point?

Warning: Spoilers
Let me preface my comments by saying that: 1. I'm relatively old myself. 2. I believe Bette Davis is still the greatest American actress of all time. 3. Lillian Gish was a national treasure. 4. Ann Sothern had a remarkable film career before moving on mostly to television. 5. I generally enjoy (and always have) films about seniors.

However, this film is a true bore. An hour into the film and I'm still wondering what the point is. It's a real treat seeing Davis, Gish,, Sothern, and Vincent Price in their very senior years. But so far, I see no plot. Just a group of very old people growing older (I already know that feeling...although I am not quite that advanced...yet.

There is a great deal of beauty in some of the exterior films. And I give each of the primary actors a great deal of credit for their effort, particularly Bette Davis after her remarkable recovery after multiple strokes.

So now, after watching the entire film, I still don't see the point.
