Now wasn't this an absolutely crazy idea. But it did fit Barney's character so much. At the beginning of the episode we are shocked when everyone meets a woman whom Barney introduces as his wife. But then he explains to us that he just did hire an actress and an actor for the role of his child to show his mother how he has the life that he thinks she would want him to have. Why he thinks it is surprising, getting to know him mom we can see where Barney got all his awesome genes from. Loved her line about the gas station toilet, haha!.
The idea gives us many hilarious scenes. There is Ted making out with the "wife" and then creating a character based on her acting tips, that scene is just awesome. Just as the one where the child actor tries to kiss Robin. Speaking of which, since Neil Patrick Harris was a child star himself, him saying that child actors in the 80's were better than now was especially fun.
