The unDead cliffhanger cheat...
23 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Because I'd grown up with the characters, Spock's "death" in STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN hit me pretty hard; the scene packed a solid Emotional punch- but then came STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK, and the aforementioned scene amounted to little more than a hill of beans (REFRIED beans, to be even more precise). It's been this way since the early serials, which ended each chapter with a cliffhanger and, in the very next chapter, an improbable escape. Both Rick (trapped in an RV surrounded by scores of zombies) and Glenn (pinned beneath the body of a fallen comrade as scores of ravenous zombies converged on top of them and reached for him) have now made improbable escapes. One can't very well call these developments an insult to one's intelligence simply because they're symptomatic of the bad writing and stupid decision-making that's plagued this series for far too long. While I'm glad that Steve Yeun and the other cast and crew members still have jobs in this anemic economy, I'm done with THE WALKING DEAD.
