How I Met Your Mother: We're Not from Here (2007)
Season 3, Episode 2
7/10
Not exactly a great episode, but at least we got rid of Gael

Warning: Spoilers
Two episodes into season 3, the direction the story is taking is still unclear, but we know we're in for a long ride. The Ted and Robin storyline is resolved for now, so with season 1 focusing on Ted chasing after Robin and season 2 showing them as a couple, what's next? As narrator Ted stated it, this is the story of how he became who he had to become before he met the Mother. So we get no major plot advancement right now, but little details are added to his story and his character that might get into play later in the season. Last episode he got a butterfly tattoo, now we are introduced to his profound hatred for New Jersey.

Once again Barney and Ted are teaming up, their adventure is reminiscent of the liberty bell incident in season 1. Except this time, everything would have worked out perfectly (at least from Barney's perspective) if Ted hadn't screwed it all up.

The Marshall and Lily story line is carried mostly by Jason Segel's excellent delivery. Robin's part also wasn't that great, but the end justifies the means as we're done with that "evolved Robin" phase within two episodes. It was interesting, however, to see Robin open up about her intimate sex dreams of all people to Barney.
