Your World is About to Get a Whole Lot Bigger

One of the beautiful things about the Walking Dead and perhaps for some frustrating thing, is that they like to take their time setting plot points and characters up. 'Knots Untie' was a perfect example of that. The story was furthered as we ventured into the new territory known as Hilltop, and we got some small tidbits about Negan and the direction we are headed this season. With only 5 episodes left, I don't think we will see the full arc come to fruition, but I do expect to see Negan himself by the final 2 episodes.

It was a big Abraham episode as he is now struggling with his true desires and feelings towards Rosita and Sasha. While I don't ultimately care who he decides to spend his time with, I like seeing this other side to Abraham that we don't normally get to see. It was all the more interesting watching him go around the group asking about relationships and "settling down". This show has been on for a long time, so anything that gives each character something new to do is always welcome.

Speaking of something new, Rick and Michonne dealt with the repercussions of them sleeping together, except that there were no real repercussions, and rightfully so. I liked that everyone on the show was just okay with it. Nobody was jealous. Nobody was saying "well that doesn't make sense". Even Carl said it was cool. I think that's the way we as an audience are supposed to feel as well. After a week of thinking about it, I totally accept it.

So as Jesus brought the group to Hilltop, they came across a small group who nearly died in a car accident. One of them being a doctor, which significantly helps everyone's cause. Then you have to wonder, which doctor's days are numbered? The show has always been seemingly keen on only having one capable doctor at arms length. Should we worry about the new guy or Denise?

We were then introduced to Gregory, the leader of Hilltop. As with pretty much every surviving leader on the show, he's kind of a jerk. It was great seeing Maggie take on the leadership role and negotiate deals with Gregory for Alexandria and Hilltop. Especially as Maggie pulled nearly the exact same deal Negan apparently did as well. But before all of this could happen, we got the big fight of the episode. Of course, a fight couldn't break out without Dark Rick throwing a few blows. I always love seeing that. His line "What?" after he stabbed a Hilltop man in the throat couldn't have been more perfect.

All of this led to the final deal that Rick and his gang proposed to kill Negan and rescue a man from Hilltop in exchange for supplies and crops that Alexandria desperately needed. It does worry me just how nonchalantly the crew agreed to go kill Negan. Of course, they don't really know how badas* Negan is. They don't read the comics. But it's still something to keep an eye on. Especially because Daryl was the first one to propose it. Hmmm…. However, we did end on a sweet note as the crew passed around the picture of Maggie and Glenn's baby.

+Abraham gets something new to do

+Carl is cool with Richonne

+Furthered the plot
