The Walking Dead: Not Tomorrow Yet (2016)
Season 6, Episode 12
The tensest episode yet
29 October 2016
Wow. Just wow. This is how to perfectly pull off a quiet yet intense episode. It goes out of TWD's comfort zone and is executed with a totally unique style for the show. Oh sure, the Walking Dead has lots of intense, heart-pounding episodes - that's the best thing about it - but nothing like this. The whole episode just has this ever- increasing tension from the beginning. This is helped by its simple, subtle soundtrack that constantly beats along in the background. There's also an interesting choice not to show as much gore as TWD usually does. There are some brutal deaths, throats bring slit and all but the camera actually cuts away to show the expressions on the killers' faces instead. Not only does this emphasise how horrible it is to kill for the first time but more importantly the general lack of graphic detail means the episode never releases its tension. Instead, the tension continues to build. It all ends with a horrifying twist. After all, things had gone too well.

One minor complaint I have is how easy it was to break in, I mean wouldn't there have been more security, CCTV or something? But that doesn't ruin the tension of the episode anyway. As Season 6 approaches the finale, it looks like it might just be the most explosive yet.
