Ana Maria in blah land
3 January 2017
Ana Maria (Edy Ganem) is a bratty young woman in her early 20s who can't hold down a job and is selfish towards her family. Her only real joy in life is watching a telanovela in which Ariana Tomosa (also played by Edy Ganem) flips between seducing her older fiancé and his dashing young son. During a blackout she ends up accidentally muttering some words which allows her to enter the novela while Ariana ends up in the real world, completely confused.

It's a fun, silly premise, worth of telenovelas themselves. Unfortunately the movie just isn't that good. The script isn't that funny or clever, Ganem isn't that great an actress and the low budget means that the sets look cheap and ridiculous.

It's pleasant enough to watch, and never lags, but it's not that great either. A movie for telenovela or Ganem fans. For everyone else, skip it.
