Not quite on board with the 5.8 IMDb rating for this episode. It's an episode that continues The Walking Dead's season 7 slow build, as we are introduced to another coloney, but the episode doesn't leave our character or the plot lingering in this new Ocean Community.
"Swear" opens with the return of Tara since she was last seen going for supplies with Heath after Rick's gang killed Negan's outpost in Season 6.... Tara awakes on a coastline and discoverers a new colony where there is no men and a shoot on sight policy. She survives only on luck, and is then forced to try to manufacture a way of taking the Oceanside Colony to Alexandria to make an alliance.
Maybe the episode has come at a time where people want plot advancement, but that will come, soon. Tara has been missing for a while so this Tara centric episode was due. She is a supporting character given a lead role here. The episode wraps itself into a arc where Tara is given the opportunity to assist the Alexandrians in stealing the Ocean Colony's armory to revenge on Negan's attack, but keeps her word to Cyndia who went out of her way to keep Tara safe. Heath mentions early on "We all look out for ourselves, that's what all do now", but Tara doesn't at the end, keeping the colony a secret. Nice little theme if you ask me. Not a bad episode .
