The remaining was just redundant filler. Gregory was a brown nosed wimp in his first episode, nothing changed. Simon was a jerk in episode 1, nothing changed. Jesus mildly challenges Gregory in their first episode, nothing changed. Eugene used the safety of Abraham and Rosita in his first appearance, now used the safety of Negan. Nothing changed although we all know he will return when needed...nothing changed.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment was Maggie and Darryl 'clearing the air'. EPIC FAILURE on the writers of that scene. Far more emotion should have taken place. His attack on Negan caused Glenn's death and he knew it. The writers could have worked a lot more tension into their meeting but it amounted to a "you good?' reunion like he had just spilled juice on her carpet. TERRIBLE disappointment there. What should have been a pivotal moment in season 7 was written off.
