Rihanna Feat. Drake: Work (2016 Music Video)
2/10
Shameful if this is the music that defines our generation
7 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The title "Rihanna: Work" already tells you what this is, namely the 7.5-minute music video for the song "Work" by Rihanna, one of the big music stars on the planet for a long time now. I myself cannot deny that I thought some of Rihanna's older songs are actually pretty catchy and I will also admit that this song here is catchier than most of the other stuff she has done in the last 2 or 3 years. But! Yes there is a huge But. As catchy as this one may be, it is a definite contender for most pointless song of the 21st century. The message here is so vague it is non-existent almost. People have to go to work, so they cannot enjoy themselves all the time. That's it. But honestly looking at Rihanna always enjoying herself as music is (even despite not having too much talent) certainly her passion, it also rings very false and almost makes fun of the people who have to pay hundreds of dollars despite being poor if they want to see Rihanna in concert. Oh the irony!

Rihanna worked with Drake on this one and he is even weaker than she is and this means a lot given Rihanna constantly repeating the song's title makes her sound like a frog from minute one. Well.. what else is there to say. I think the title of my review summarizes it pretty nicely as this is a song and video that almost reached a billion views on Youtube in not much over a year. It's truly sad. Don't watch or listen to.
