Each Other's Happiness
17 May 2017
Professor Everrett (Richard Long) is being wooed into the business sector by Arthur Swanson (Hal Buckley). Swanson gives him a prestigious job offer at Astrodynamics, a private research center where scientists develop computer language in Astroville- a planned community he labels "the city of tomorrow". The professor tells his children that it's something he can't afford to pass up, leaving them disappointed. They tell Nanny (Juliet Mills) that they have their own roots and don't want to move. Nanny tells them if they love their father they can be happy wherever he's happy, regardless of where it is. On behalf of the others, Hal (David Doremus) tells his father they support the move, but are clearly dejected when he says he's signed the contract. Nanny later learns that the professor doesn't want to move, but is doing it for the children and wants them to think he is as excited as they are. (A bit of a stretch to believe he couldn't read their visible emotions.) Now, Nanny must figure how to get everyone on the same page.
