OK, this episode is miles ahead of last week. McDermitt is a comedic genius. It is incredible that he can act and say his parts with a straight face. Great job. Now, Eugene must die. And die soon. Like, next episode. And I hope that Gabriel kills him while the zombies attack.
Dwight had some great scenes as well. Austin Amelio is copying Andrew Lincoln's acting style, the way he tilts his head, lowers his voice, intense dialogue. Not original. But good acting. Daryl's scene with Michonne was good. He just said a few great words, great. Michonne's dialogue not so good. Rick's scene with the Garbagers was decent, but again unrealistic.
Another contrivance: Morgan shows up just in time for the great attack on the Saviors. You can't make this stuff up, unless you're a writer for THE WALKING DEAD. He just shows up. No suspense. He's just there, like he beamed down from the Enterprise.
Main problem is after the zombies attack, we see Eugene in trauma, next he's in a room with Negan, like they're in a business meeting. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ZOMBIE ATTACK???????????? Last week I gave the episode a 1 star. This week is a 5, mainly because there was some action, decent acting from Eugene and Dwight. Once I understood that Eugene is a comic character, the laughter started. Like almost kissing Negans hand – 10 stars. Zombie attack? What happened? – 0 stars.
Now, I would like to help the writers out and express how I would liked to have seen this episode:
1) Rick kills all his captors with the stick attached to the zombie. Kills Jadis the Garbage Queen with the zombie, takes her guns and kills a bunch more and escapes in his underwear, leaving behind a few garbage people to continue doing their garbage things.
2) Michonne and Rosita join Daryl and Tara, and Morgan, and attack the Saviors. You might as well throw in Aaron and Enid. A couple of Saviors make it outside and Rosita bazookas them along with a bunch of zombies. Kill off some characters, maybe they want to move on to other shows. How's that for some crazy s ?!?
3) Eugene actually kisses Negan's hand before Negan pulls his hand! I know what happened was funny. But this scene would be better.
4) Gabriel kills Eugene for being a traitorous coward, by way of Gabriel locking them both in a room, and when Gabriel dies and turns he kills Eugene. How's that? You like it? That my friends is THE WALKING DEAD. That is suspense, terror, gore. Not the crap we are dished out week after week.
5) Saviorsville is no more. Negan escapes. Next episode, Rick hunts him down solo, and the big fight. They both die! and cancel the 2nd half of the season. Or start a new series called The Walking Died, where we see the Dead Negan and Dead Rick teaming up and killing everyone!
