Dr. Nobel is a fabulous episode of Eureka which stands the test of time (over 10 years later as this is written). A tale of Cold War weaponry and love which really works. The immediate crisis of a death ray (as it is understood to be by the scientific-term-challenged Sheriff) is played out on the backdrop of the comedy of Fargo's aptitude to break things, the silly competitive-machismo of Carter and Stark butting heads, Zoe paying penance for being Zoe, and a long gone love affair. This episode is full of laughs, still politically relevant, a well-paced and well-told tale, and emotionally beautiful. The best of the series so far.
