I understand nothing: last week, i watched from the same DWG his KKK propaganda Birth of a Nation. Here, with Ramona, it's the extreme: it's a love drama that tells about the genocide of Native Americans. Our so-called white civilized actually exploit the native nation (not slaves but not that different), spoil their land (it belong to them) and uses cold blood killings as way to end problems! All those human rights violations and to date still unpunished are told in a gripping 17 minutes short movie that is actually an adaptation of a famous novel. When i see that today movies asks 2 parts or a TV show to adapt novels and finish boring and empty, we just can applause DWG extraordinary talent with this new media: he shots the essential and edit it with style and rythm. The Ramona was played by the same actress that i saw in Redwoods Romance and honestly i didn't recognize her. But like this one, it's great to see how California was like in the 1910. Initially, i wanted to see Old California from the same DWG and unable to find it, i picked this one instead. It was a great choice and every one who is moved by Jude should was this similar try at the dawn of Hollywood!
